I got a 9k mile 1300 I didn't really care for the shocks so I got some Progressive 412s 12 in and it feels amazing. No more getting that bucked off feeling and turns feel so much more stable. I've had the bike for a couple months not sure if the OEM were bad or just sucked but money well spent.

I just put them on mine too. Been riding my C since 2016, the progressives are fantastic!

Just putting this out there for comparison. I bought entry-level MB gas shocks a couple years ago from 'The Chief', Jim Miller, a member here ( though he seldom posts anymore). They were less expensive than the Progressive 412, and he assured me the specs were similar.

The 412's were the first shock I tried after the OEM ones. I regretted getting the 412HD version after a while. I seemed to be replacing the shock bushings at least once a year. And the ride seemed to be too harsh. I think the regular 412 would have been much better. Now I'm running the Progressive 430, 11.5". Very nice cushy ride and very adjustable (2-up, 1-up, bags full, etc).

I ordered some from x choppers. Everybody is out of them. They told me they are right near then do they have access to more of a supply. Good enough for me. They had then in stock. Got the 12 inch standard. Now I gotta call progressive to see if I could get some bushings before Xmas cause of this covid crap

Assuming you mean polyurethane, if so, good call. I installed mine from day 1. I'm only a few months into it (and very few miles because of COVID), but there was a HUGE difference in removing the rubber, and installing the polyurethane. I had to use my shop press with some grease (to prevent tearing).

I've been running
Progressive 444-4233B for the last 8k miles. I'm impressed. Guess it's time to check the bushings.

Well, I just had an interesting conversation with progressive. Called to order the poly bushings. Told them I ordered the 412 shocks and wanted to order the poly bushings so Im prepared for installation. They told me that they come with bushings. I told them that I was told I had to order the "poly bushings". He said that they come with them again and verified the part# of the shocks which was correct. IDK, I'm confused. Maybe they started including them recently. Or, maybe he didn't understand me and is saying they come with standard rubber ones and not the poly IDK. So, I told him I wanted to order the bushings anyway part# 5025-10 just to have extras. He said they are out of stock and it could be up to 2 months before they get them! I really hope he knows what he is talking about. But from the pic on dennis kirk's site it does look like they come with them. It looks like they are already installed on the shock.

Those are not the poly bushings. The rubber bushings have rounded outer edges, the poly are square. Here are the poly bushings installed on my 412's. If you look closely, the outer lip are square, and also, the poly bushings are dull. It took me 2+ weeks to get my bushings over this past winter (way before COVID), so I don't think they keep a lot sitting around.

So after riding through a construction area... bumpy as hell, I discovered my 14 year old, original shocks are shot. The only thing i could find was on BikeBandit.. Progressive 412's, 11.5 inch, chrome, standard duty.. will I have any issues other than being .5 inches lower than stock?
