Ok, so I rode my bike in today, it was only supposed to be a small chance of rain. So of course it's pouring down rain right now.
I've noticed post that if I ride a lot in the rain I have to check the tube behid the air filter.
Is there anything I have to do if the bike sits in the rain, besides wipe the whole bike down (gotta keep it clean ya know
)

wipe it off and ride lol
Some don't have any shelter for their bikes, and I continue riding through down pours if it's not too windy with no problems ..
Just don't use a pressure washer to clean your bike and water shouldn't be an issue.

Sorry you're stuck in the rain lol

My old bike (Spirit 750) use to get hosed on occasion while I was at work and never had any problems. Got caught riding in a down pour a couple of times and it was not fun. Goggles kept fogging, feet soaked by huge puddles. Never had any handling issues though.

There is a drain tube behind the airbox that has to be drained occasionally but not that often. There is a hose that comes from the crankcase that draws the moisture and fumes out of the crankcase into the bottom of the airbox which is a good thing so if you see moisture in the bottom don't get excites. And you don't need to worry about it if it rains.

+1 The post you are probably thinking of are people with either a de-cappitated airbox and/or the spyker mod. Those may let a little more water in during a hard downpour, but with a stock airbox you shouldn't get any added moisture from the rain, only what normally accumulates as Donut said above.

I learned a trick from the people at Aerostitch in Duluth. I carry empty bread wrappers in the side case. When it rains, or I think it's going to, I put those on over my socks and then pull on the boots. It really helps. I have an anti-fog shield inside my Shoei Multitec's face plate. PastorGene

Thanks for the replies folks. I'm not new to motorcycles, just the VTX's. I've had other Hondas, Yamahas, and Harleys. Just trying to take better care of this bike than I have of others.
It rained hard enough that I couldn't see my bike 50 feet away during the hardest downpour and the post after the bikes have been modified are probably what I was thinking about.
I'm not worried about riding in the rain. I have waterproof hiking boots I wear, Frog Togs, and the drop down visor on the brain bucket. Thankfully it wasn't raining when I got off work.
