Hey guys, I've been lurking around here for a year or two, bought a 1300s this summer and am very happy with it and am always riding. I have a problem though and am just curious to see what your opinions are. I needed a new rear tire (treads were showing) so went and had one installed at my local bike shop. On the way home I noticed the bike shaking and leaning more to the right than usual so took it back to have it rebalanced. I rode home again and the bike was the same so I just assumed was something else (although it rode fine before the new tire, no wobbling or shaking of the bars at all.)

Anyway, we just put the bike up and this is what it looks like. Is this a faulty tire? The rims spin perfectly straight but the tire is all over the place.

Thanks!

Hard to tell from the video...But either the tire bead is not seated all the way around the rim diameter, or that tire has a broken belt....Either way, not safe to ride on in my opinion....Should be able to tell by looking at the sidewall along the rim and tell if there's a spot not seated completely...

Thanks for the info bass dude. By the looks of it, there is a chance it's not seated correctly and that would just make my day. I'm from Cape Breton N.S. and the C.B. Bike Fest starts tomorrow. It's 3 full days of riding, events, vendors and all kinds of stuff and I've been looking forward to it. It's going back to the shop tomorrow whether they like it or not, if it just has to be reseated i'll be a happy guy.

Yep, make them fix it. Be careful riding it around. They never should have let you leave with it acting funny. Especially since you returned right after. Good luck with that,I get really upset when they release the vehicle to me and it is not right. The customer is always right and they will try to blame you I'm sure.

They're usually kind of rude and a big rip off but they're the only shop around here and I don't have the tools or know how at this point to do it myself. I'll post an update tomorrow.
If you ever need a hand with a mod or problem, I'm only a few hours away and have all the tools to do most jobs.

Right on blackdot! You'll see me out eventually no doubt about it. If you see a vtx around with the rider wearing this patch, it's me so flag me over :)

Love the patch and I'll certainly be on the look out for that one. :D

If you have an air compressor, just do it yourself....Pull the valve core and let all the air out of the tire, spray a mixture of soap/water in the area that didn't seat at the rim/tire, and re-inflate...It should pop into position and you'll be good to go...Just did a tire job for a customer last Saturday, new Metz on an 1800 front wheel...Took several times of deflating/re-inflating to get this one section to seat.....Stubborn assed tire!!...lol...If you get to 50 psi and it doesn't seat, start over and try again...Some guys will inflate to well over 60, and even 80 psi to seat a bead in one shot, but I'm not really that comfy doing that...Had a car tire/darkside explode the sidewall at 65 psi a few months back, so I'm a bit gunshy about ramping up the air that high...
