My touring bags suffer from Texas heat damage. The plastic lining under the lid warped and causes the buttons not to stay snapped, or even reach the snaps themselves. The left side I unstitched and cut out the plastic liner for the lid, then restitched the leather decorative strap back on. Now it closes nicely, and the flaps stay down, instead of curling up on the ends. I'm to do the right side next. It's a good weekend job. Requires a leather needle, and paste wax for the thread to ease it through the leather. Not hard, watched TV doing the left side.
