It looks like I’m going to have to give in and take my 2005 vtx 1300 s to a shop. Anyone on here have experience with any shops in the St. Louis or south area?

I don’t mind paying a fair price to have it fixed. I just don’t want to pay a bunch and get it back with continuing problems.

I am running rich and my plugs blacken within 50 miles. I also have an electrical blinker issue.

Anyone have advice for a good shop? Or if any of you folks are really good at working on these bikes and would like to help me out, I’m willing to pay. I need someone who knows way more than me about working on them.

Does the lack of response mean no one lives in my part of Missouri or that the shops here are not worthy of a recommendation ?

18 years my bike had never been to a shop for service. With the pandemic sitting for a while Id have the car rebuilt & rejeted the bike hasn't ran since.
Then I had a flash fire parked it.
Didn't hurt the bike but that told me I never take it back to an independent or dealer.
With the help of several on here. I've gotten everything put back together the carb I rebuilt I'll be firing it up this weekend.
De smogged it fixed everything the so-called mechanic did to it Don't believe Yelp reviews.
Just about anything you could need people on here respond to it with valid answers and diagrams with pictures.
