Ive cut all the bracketry off of the rear fender and installed a set of mini turn signals about 2 weeks ago... just recently i added a vertical plate mount and tonight i put on a stainless plate frame with built in (but hidden) LED strip to light up the plate while riding at night. I wired this to a switch but just noticed that when i turn ignition on, the taillight doesnt light up until i hit the brakes. I feel stupid but i seriously forgot how it was stock, can anybody tell me if it only lights up when brakes are applied? :hmm2: Thanks

Yes it should light up, something is wired wrong, go cehck your wiring again.

i also removed the stock plate light , it had an orange and a green wire going in.. i just cut those and taped them up real good, dont think that has anything to do with it. ill check it out but thanks for the reply, i thought it should stay lit

also check the bulb to see if you burnt out one of the filaments
