So I just purchased a used sissy bar. I've determined it's a Cobra Short for the VTX 1300C. Question is how do I mount this to the bike with the Honda leather saddle bags? I know it mounts to the two back bolts but can anyone help me out with what size bolts. The saddle bags have a spacer to keep the frame away from the fender so I know I need a longer bolt but not sure how long. Then there is the factor of what size spacers to use for the sissy bar, can I just used Stainless washers stacked for the spacer?

Not sure on the "C" but on my "S" the sissy bar (Honda made) mounts to the original chrome bracket that mounts to the rear fender and the spacer mounts to over the sissy and the bags mount to that, so you might be able to keep the same bolts. Pull one bolt and set the brackets in place then see if you can get the bolt to thread back into the bracket. As a side note, if you remove all the bolts on one side at the same time or all the bolts on both sides at the same time, it can be a Bitch to get it all to line up again. I removed one at a time, got things into position as best I could and replaced that bolt LOOSELY but at least engaged into the threads and then went to the next bolt and repeated (a pain in the A$$, but better than not being able to get everything to line up), after everything was in place I finished tightening the bolts.
