I have 2600 miles and was traveling at a slow speed 25-30 mph for about 20 minutes. I ran out of gas and swithed to the reserve tank.
I stopped and noticed dark exhaust from my pipes. I filled my tank up immediatly, (about 6 miles later). When I stopped at the gas station it would not crank over, after i swithched to reg tank. I had to chock it. The engine was still hot. I had plenty of fuel in reserve. When it finaly cranked , the idle was low and I had to adjust before leaving the gas station. It semed to ride fine at 75 and again at 25. I arrived home 5 miles later. I turned the idle back down. When I went to crank it up again, just before the enine started t turn over there was a SNAP sound. I started fine. However it continues to have a loud SNAP sound every other time I crank it.
Help is this serious. I have a ride scheduled tomorrow.
