Ordered some parts for my 2006 1300R from HDL on 6/28, Arrived today 7/3. Took all of an hour to install. Kuryakyn Plug and Play Run-Turn-Brake Controller (KUR-4610) Deep Dish Bezels with Colored Lenses, 2 sets (Amber KUR-2268 and Red KUR-2269).

The instructions for both were pretty straight forward. Quality of product was at least as good as OEM if not better. Both sets of lights are noticeably brighter and I think the ring between the light housing and the bezel add a nice touch.

The Run-Turn-Brake controller adds some nice safety features to the bike. The rear turn signals now work as running lights as well as additional brake lights. If either brake is applied while the turn indicator is on, that light will flash off and on while the opposite side continues to function as an additional brake light. Also when the brakes are applied all three rear lights flash three times then remain solid on until the brake is released. (a little attention getter for anyone behind you). You have the ability to set the brake lights to solid on (no flashing) by removing a jumper on the unit marked "flash".

The unit also comes with a load equalizer to slow the blinking rate of the turn signals (mine about doubled after I installed the controller unit) it also has an additional connection available for a second load equalizer if needed (single unit slowed mine back to normal). All in all I'm very pleased with the quality, appearance and ease of installation.

did the same mod to my 1300C with the same result. I think this and the Bad-X seat mod may be the best 2 things you can do to a stock bike for the money. I got the run-turn-brake controller from HDL for $71.99 and the deep dish bezels from ********* for $26.90 per pair. I really like'um!

Ok, here's a really noob question.....what is HDL? Also, is there a difference in the run-turn-brake controller you installed and the Plug and Play run-turn-brake controller that Delna used? I saw both of these on Kuryakyn's site and I can't make out the diff.

sorry for the shortcuts. HDL is a supplier for parts, link:

as far as the plug & play run-turn-brake controller goes, you just have to make sure you get the right controller and it plugs right into your wiring harness inside the right side cover. you unplug the rear lights from your wiring harness feed and plug the rear lights into the contoller, then plug the controler into the feed end from the bikes wiring harness. The proper controllers for different models are:
there are 2 models of plug & play controllers for the rear lights:

4610 for 1800 r/s 04+, 1800c 05+, 1300 r/s/c 06+

4611 for 1800 02 & 03, 1800c 04, 1300 r/s/c 03-05

I used the 4611 for my 2004 1300C. Hope this helps. If you need more help, you can PM me.

kuryakyn run turn braker controller

Attempted to install the run turn brake controller module (Kuryakyn PN#4611) on my 03 1800C and ended up having no signal light running lights. Then when turning on signals it actually made both rear turn signals go on. Braking modulation (blinking) worked fine in both the tail light and rear signal lights.

Any ideas on what went wrong?

I think I had the same problem at first and if I remember correctly I had the rear ground and rear positive leads reversed. Good luck.
