The wire pushes into the coil. Just unscrew the cap on the end of the coil and the wire will pull out. Don't lose the grommet and compression ring inside the cap, you'll need them for the new wire. The plug boot screws onto the wire. Just unscrew the boot. The boot has a resistor built into it, so use the stock boot. The insulator on the wire will pull off with a little silicone spray on the wire. It will slide on the new wire too. You can use any wire core plug wire. Call auto parts stores and ask for wire core spark plug wire in bulk. I found it at NAPA for 0.49 a ft. Route the new wire away from the exhaust and fix the leak.

Spark plug boots are 16 bucks each and coil boots are 10 bucks each for a total of 104 bucks. At a buck a foot for bulk wire, you can a have a new set of wires for 10 bucks and still have wire left over.

If the wire itself is still in good working order, you can just use some heat shrink and put it on, and no one will know the dirrerence. I did it 70,000 miles ago on one of the boots that riped and no one has ever noticed it.
