Looks good, clever idea with the socket. I found a company a while back that does similar work with a variety of designs. Here's what I've got:

Made one using the chrome end cap off the stock handle bar grip. Did a few measurements and cut a spare key down to size. Got pretty hot as the epoxy set up, but the plastic/chrome made it thru. Have to look for a pic, but looks like its a part of the ignition and not a key. Have to look for a pic. Did happen though, honest.
Shawn, you got a web site for your key ??

Here's one I made recently. It's aluminum and turned out well. Makes the ignition look more like a valve. I like the way it turned out.
Sorry for the crappy pictures.

One tip, if you want to make your own out of something. You have to leave the key long enough so that it will work on the gas cap as well. I got lucky when I made mine, didn't think about it but it worked fine when I tried to use it the first time. :47b20s0:

I was just asked this recently and spent some time digging through email invoices and searching the web and couldn't find it. I bought it so long ago, I'm not sure if the company/ guy who made mine is even still around. Sorry, wish I knew, I'd probably order another one for myself, too!

Good Point - that would be a bummer - get it all perfect - then can't get in at the cap.

Great looking on both mods.

But holy cow - the custom keys on the links - 30-50 bucks, that's insane.
And I didn't like any of them.

Could scrounge through the tool boxes for cool item just for the cause - yet not be intrusive in your pocket.
One thought is the allen key needed to remove the seat in some clever way.

Yeah, that's pricey. I remember paying about $10-15 for my key knob. Even shipped with a small epoxy tube.

Thats a pretty cool key. I can totally imagine 2 little beady blue eyes looking out from your ignition key skull :icon_yike

That is a cool mod but I like my Glenn's gas cap hinge equally well. Shucks.
