I don’t know if it is just me but while riding down the roadway and the sun is overhead or toward my back and the road angle is just right I get a strong sun glare reflection off the speedometer and chrome housing. Even with dark shades on it is almost blinding in certain positions. Has anyone else experienced this and are there any modifications that can be done to remedy this or just suck it up?

Get the same thing from my entire top triple clamp. Sucks that it always seems to happen when coming out of a turn. Bike comes upright and BAM! Blind for a split second. Payin' the price for Spec 3 chrome and polish I guess.

The other annoying trait is the blue high beam indicator light at night…. It’s like a beacon!

Put some driving lights on and you won't need the high beams.

I only run my high beam during the daylight hours.

Not only do I get the reflection from the speedo housing but I also get it from the speedo housing but reflected off the batwing windshield. I wear dark glasses and they help but it's just part of it I guess. I love my chrome enough to suck it up, even my "cheap plastic chrome."

Here are a couple of things that I have done for that very reason. First pic is of a piece of flat plastic that I cut out to perfectly match the V shaped cut out under the gas cap. (I will try to get a closer pic posted here soon. Just liked that you could see the piece in this one.) It was a tub that came with a dish straining set that I bought at the dollar store. Purchased it with intentions to cut it up for projects like this. It is textured, and looks like a factory piece. The second pic is a cover that I had Robert Doerr make me when I sent my seats to him to recover them. That whole instrument/handlebar area used to blind me pretty badly, especially those two spots. My eyes are very light sensitive. I would get migraines from the sun reflecting off of those areas. Since I made the V section part, and designed that leather cover, I have had no problems at all.
