I have seen it on here so many times I have to finally respond, look, I see it this way, I am setting up my VTX to have the "look" of the dressers, that "look" is whats made HD famous, so what. Couple the dresser look with the reliability and value of the VTX over the HD and the issue is solved as far as I am concerned. I have ordered the HD front fairing to adapt to the VTX, I have ordered the rear bags and the rear trunk from "Crusier Customizing", I have ordered the "Candy Orange" paint from Color Rite. THIS IS WHAT I THOUGHT HONDA WAS GOING TO DO WITH THE VTX T!!!!
I will post pics in the near future. RIDE SAFE!!!:choppersm

Well....I'm kind of glad they didn't. I like seeing the variety of X's that riders have built. There are many variations. With a little enginuity, you can make anything work. When you're done, bet you wont see another like yours.

On the other hand.... Seen one HD dresser....seen them all....yawn...kinda like the Ford Taurus of mototcycles.

I bought the X because I didn't want to be like everyone else.

I purchased the GIVI setup because the quality is high and the cost is far more reasonable than HD stuff and the fairing that I found is actually an old Honda fairing from the 1970's. the frame that took it off from said that it was a 1976 Honda CL350. My first objective is functionality and the batwing gives good hand and chest protection then I try hard to make it look good. I also don't like to look like everybody else with leather bags, sissy bar and memphis shades type windsheild and that is why I was looking for a batwing of some type. Look forward to the pictures BIGD1300c.

I agree with DillDawg. The VTX is a slick and clean machine and you can do with it as you wish...and as much as your wallet can stand. To mildly paraphrase the latest Yamaha/Star marketing blitz: "Honda makes it. You make it your own."

I enjoy the looks of this bike stock. Now you add in the versitlity and ease of mods, How on earth could you go wrong with it? You can't! Greatest gift I ever gave myself :D

Its great to have a bike like the VTX and to have HD riders really lookin it over and then you see em all depressed over the cost of their HD. I've had it happen more than once already. The VTX with a front fairing and bags is one bad ass lookin machine, that big v twin pokin out from under there.

I relly appreciate all of the great things this bike provides, and yes i have wanted a Harley for sometime. I've got it all picked out, and perhaps someday. But honestly, for the remarks I get on the style, lines, mechanics, and sound of the VTX, I think we're all in a good place. These bikes make great impressions and ride very well. I have several friends that ride Harleys. I have several that wish they did, that is until they saw my VTX, and found out the price. Since then I 've referred 3 people to Honda who have bought. I need to stop doing that...

I was just at the HD dealership today with some friends. I liked alot of the bikes they had there, but I still love my X. I've had many Harley guys pull up to me at a gas station and compliment me on my bike. It makes me feel pretty good. It makes me feel even better when I think of the $$ I saved.

The first day I rode my bike home from the dealership, I was stopped at a light. Some guy, walking across the crosswalk, mouthed to me "nice bike" I knew then already, I had a special bike.

I won't say I'd never buy a Harley. But I know if I do, I'm still keeping my X.

I am tired of looking for a group in my area that sees bikes as bikes so Im gonna start one...( Yes, believe it or not, I see the same "mines better" attitude from HONDA owners ) "MIXED MOTERS MOTORCYLES", CHESAPEAKE VIRGINIA. Designed the logo and am having patches made, man, if you love bikes AND you love to ride LETS GO!!!! End of STORY!!!
