I'd like to make mine look a little more custom looking. So i've thought of cutting my name into the cover then putting a painted piece of tin blue and behind it. Then thought of cutting out the image of a pitbull's head and putting the tin behind it. But i'm wondering if I should just cut it out of thin metal or lexan and gluing it to the cover. Still brainstorming...

The cover is EXTREMELY difficult to cut and have it look good...I tried doing one with flames right after I got my bike and gave up on it...Looked like crap to me..The chrome at the cut edges wanted to pull up, and pretty much impossible to have the edges smooth enough for my standards...

Thanks for the heads up. I may just cut it out of metal and bond it to the cover. Or just do the mesh mod that I saw this weekend...looked sweet.

I was talking about today as well my thought was to cut or get somthing i like and space it off the air filter to give it a 3D look, my 2 cents.

you could also use stencil (vinyl) type materials on the cover then later if you wanted to change you could.

Hey Charlie. I thought about that and I actually have a company that does the lettering and such for my business and rescue. Although I would feel cheated since I won't get the sense of accomplishment like coming up with a cool mod.

Then step it up a notch you drill the outline and install LED lights

I had a very nice Superman belt buckle. Took it off cause too many Idiots thought that the S meant Suzuki !!!! But as said...the sky's the limit!!!

Had a few to many beers after work today and got playing in the garage. Not sure if I like, but we'll see. I think i'll redoing for a better finish and there's not beer involved.

Just thought about it, how far it sticks out may bother me when riding

Taking it to work this morning. Will let you know, but I think I may end up redoing it out of aluminum and polishing it or just scrapping the idea all together and thinking of something else.

Definitely not going to work, it extends out so much that its hard for me to use the rear brake. I guess ill be going with the mesh mod like Daytona.

I got 3 compliments on the air cover mod on the way home from work, 1 being a fellow biker who at first didn't believe I made it myself out of pvc. I'm not completely happy with it and it isn't functional so i'm off to HD for parts for a new mod.
