I hope your RC truck has a catchy name so they won't forget it: I submit the name Maverick.
never considered a name... Maverick is as good as many.
thinking outside of the BOX.
that is me.

I think they now believe me.. carpet on-road driving does work on dirt..
brake late, hard/tight turns.. easy on the throttle out of the turns.. is F A S T.
LOOKS Slow.. but the numbers do not lie.

this one has real merit ..

very old History..
my 1965 Impala SS ( Red ) .. was " Lettered "
" The Angry One ".
several RED lights behind all 4 wheels..
its was LEGAL..
as you could not see the light directly or from the front or rear of car.

and the trend of painting the brake parts... what a copy of OLD school
brake hubs, calipers, rear drums, rear axle... all painted Red.. aka 1969
with aftermarket chrome wheels.. it WAS COOL.

I like the painted stuff. Seen that a lot and usually it's still red. Sometimes blue or green.

I had a front fender replaced with a new red primered one on my '64 Impala. As it was eventually going to get painted to match the rest of the car, I took the time to block-letter it "The Mouse that ROARED". Small block 283 (stock internals) (referred to as a 'mouse' motor, the big block 396,427 was the Rat) w/ 4 bbl. Quadrajet, a little bit of ignition work, but the rest was stock. 2 sp. Powerglide, dual exhausts w/ shorty offset glaspaks, 14" chromed reverse rims w/ baby moon caps, cheater-style recaps on the back, load-leveler coil-over rear shocks to give it a little of that raised rear look. It looked badder than it really was. Many thought it was a 327 hi-performance, and I got lots of challenges that for the most part I declined because I knew I'd get my butt kicked.

yep,
removed the 409 fender badges.. and all other badges..
filled in all the holes.. filled all the front body seams.. so front end looked like a aftermarket fiberglass unit.

Yes factory 409 (2) 4 bbl, 4 speed ( M21) .. 4:11 posi gears.
altered rear frame... air bags....traction bars..
6 tail lights/brake lights, 66 T-Bird sequential turn signal controller
67 Chrysler reverse lights cut into rear bumper.
Twin antenna's, at the rear, angled back.
67 Mustang GT front fog headlights.
67 Mustang GT side mirrors.
the " Lettered " on the rear fenders.. I had a pro do it..
everything else I did.

it was the coolest car in the area .. as a daily driver.. stolen 4 times in one year..
it never got off of my street... anti-theft devices ( home made ) a few would be illegal today.
till I parked it in a rented garage to hop up the 427 a few months earlier
engine was out of the car when stolen for the final time, NEVER FOUND.

after it was stolen.. I found out what Friends are...
they hung around me because of my car and what I could do.

it took me years to recover from the financial loss.. and mental damage.
I still believe they should have killed me, then they could take the car.

anti-social
anti-trust
anti-all most everything.

I'd love to, assuming it comes close to a ride I've committed to in the BRP/WV area in June. Dates and routes are still up in the air.
If you make it down here, you better let us know! Surely we can work something out to meet up for a beer....!!

There's been no wrench thrown in the plans yet, although the plan is more of an idea at this point. Still no definite riders at this time, other than a couple of us who have set the time aside on our calendars. I'm hoping to make it happen as I'm just finishing up a stressful year at work in the next few weeks. Trust me.....I NEED this! I'll keep you posted when it gets closer. I'm always up for a pint! 🍺

I’ll be heading out to The Grand Canyon end of June but if you go let me know if it brings you this way and maybe I can catch up to you somewhere and ride along a bit I’d be up for pinching Fishamafooljack’s chubby cheeks!!!
