WOW! Have any of you been down to Leakey, Tx and ridden the three sisters loop? My father in law and I took the trip from Austin down every windy road we could find to get there on Saturday. The 1800 is a beast going up and down those mountains. We ended up going 450 miles all in one day. I say we... his Harley's lights shorted out at some point on the trip and he had to call for a trailer to bring him home the last 60 miles since we had run out of daylight.
My 2006 N kicked his Heritage's butt as soon as he let me lead. I would have to slow down every 5 miles or so and let him catch up. If you haven't been down there to take this ride... it is worth it.

Wife and I went down and stayed 4 days in Kerrville last October. Riding the Sisters and the whole area was wonderful.

It was my first ride of that length, and it was awesome. The weather couldn't be better, mid 80's...started with a jacket in the morning. We came down 16 then took 337 in to Leakey.... what a baptism in the slow and sharp turns! I am glad he was leading that that point... and had been there before, the first hairpin was a doozy. They had just gotten a big rain two days before and there was gravel all over a couple of those first few. Accelerating UPHILL was a new sensation, I can't wait to go again. My family lives in Junction just up the road, I will sneak back down there next time I am visiting. There are so many FM roads down there that are great rides. I live in East Texas and that is a long haul.

Bobby, when are you going? My Brother and I are planning a trip down to Medina in mid-May. Haven't been there since Granddad passed in '80 and am really looking toward getting home again. Might be a great place to a LONG distance M&G.

Most likely in October again or very early November. That is the plan right now. Got a few things to clear off the calendar in the next couple of weeks for it to work out though.

Keep me in mind when you come down though ... would like an excuse to miss work and meet some fellow "X'ers".
