I know these arent performance bikes but I thought I could still have some fun. I have 1/4 mile drag strip about 15 min from my house and they have whats called "test and tune" nights where for $20 you can bring just about anything and run it down the track. I ran several times and it was pretty consistant at 14.2 seconds at 90mph. The temp was in the mid 80's with high humidity so a 13.99 might be possible with cooler temps - stay tuned.

LOL sorry about the size it was late and I didnt even check it - I hope this is better. I was checking online about 1/4 mile times for the 1300's and they say it should be around 13.5 sec at 95 mph. I do weigh a tad over 200lbs (uh uh ) and I could work on my launch but to cut almost 3/4 sec would be a hugh improvment. Anybody else have real world results.

Thanks for posting, would be interesting to see the numbers on a couple different combos like a 1300 with a 1800 final, vice versa, and a couple of each with mod intakes/programs to see what difference they really make.

Much better thank you, it's actually easier to read this way. Heat kills 1/4 mile times along with altitude, the usual figure for weights is every 100 lbs you take off a machine equals 1/10 second faster. I doubt you weigh enough to spare that may pounds. Did you drop the sair pressure out of the rear tire? Lower pressure is only good at the drags, the tire gets fatter off the launch increasing traction and it expands and gets taller as heat is generated. A trip to the dyno to make sure the bike is getting everything out of it when it;s needed would do wonders too. That all being said those were some respectable times you put on the board. Reaction times were fine, you won't get better without a heck of a lot of practice with a Xmas tree light. There's a normal lag between our eyes, brain and body that needs practice, practice, practice to speed up. Unless you're going to do this all the time you are doing fine. Lastly 95hp isn't what the bike really has, they take that figure before they start adding runnng gear to it.

Jerry, the 95 he mentioned was what some 1300's make at final speed, end of the 1/4 mile i think. Bry

With a proper tune on the 1300 you can get around the 63 hp mark at the wheel and more torque all through the rpm band.

To get the 63 it takes an air box like the BAK which is really free flowing

With the bak is it as easy to take it off as my decap air box?

If you are used to putting nuts and bolts in from the back side blind with just the finger tips

I am not disappointed with the performance at all - I dont have any plans on trying to find a few more ponies with a dyno tune. It runs so dang good - it starts great - it idles great - it runs great - the fuel mileage is great. I averaged 49mpg on my Lake Michigan Circle Tour a few weeks ago. From what I've read that is better than most. I'm a firm believer in if it aint broke dont fix it.

Thats not bad, Charlie, Can that be done with close to stock exhaust? For some reason i dont quite believe the custom exhaust makers claims of all this extra horsepower, but as always, i could be wrong in my thoughts. Bry :choppersm
