Hey guys. I got a qusetion regarding the transmition for my 1300c. Every once and a while when shifting from 4th to 5th the bike misses a gear completly, like its found another nuetral. if I shift again it drops in and everything is fine, but it does cause me some concern. I am shure that I am shifting completly when the problem happens, but I still wonder. Is this just a vtx thing, or something that I should take a closer look at?

Mine has done that too. Maybe 3 or 4 times per year.

Sometimes I find that if I try to shift too fast and do not fully grab a gear it falls into a false neutral. I am not certain if this affects the tran too much but I have done it several times with no harm done. I have only had this issue on bikes that did not have a heel-toe shifter. I think it is just a matter of making sure you have made a complete shift.

Mine has done the same thing twice now. I don't feel so bad now. Thought it was just me!

This can happen with most bikes and between any gears.

Yeah - 4 - 5 false neutral is normal. Try and hit that one harder. Make sure your Shifter peg is adjusted well for your boot

Plus 1 DillDawg, Also make sure you let the pressure completly off the shift leaver between every shift. This will let the shifter relax and be ready for the next gear. Think of it being a ratchet. GG

Mine does the same thing- seems to happen if I try to shift gently. Doesn’t do it when I shift it firmly.
