Ok guys...trying to do a few things here..One was to make a youtube video...Second was to try to get it loaded here...Third was to see if any of you could possibly give me some ideas...

I am running the following:
Spyker Airbox (not blocked off)
Cobra Slashcuts w/baffles
FactoryPro Stage jet kit...58 pilot, 210 main, needle shimmed 3 down from blunt end, stock spring, A/F 1 3/4 turns

Not sure how close idle is to 900 rpm's +/- 100

Turn in the A/F screw 1/4 turn

then just blip the throttle don't rev

if it drops below the set idle you are still rich
if it hangs a bit then drops you are lean

Only took 5 minutes to get the first vid downloaded.

?? third clip is equal to stock setting. I believe it should be 4th clip. - Right Charlie.
No because he has a larger main in there, clip relation is based on main jet first.

you also might need to raise the idle just a hair as it sounded closer to 800
I did turn it up some...I will take it out again in the morning...I did notice a vast improvement the first time I redid the jets...only miscue was I almost lost the a/f tool...the o-ring and washer were gone...

Glen sent me all new parts....that is all I redid today....

Hopefully it is just the idle....w/o a tach I am clueless....

Thnaks for the help...both you and doug...

??? mine's larger
58 / 215 and 4th clip from blunt end and 2 turns out
Correct due to you having the decap of the air box, all Ed has is the spyker cover.

He may need to add 1 shim but that will be based on how the throttle reacts at 1500 rpm on up.

Take it for a ride and get it fully warmed up in the morning then reset the idle to around 900

then do the Idle drop method of setting the A/F
blip throttle
If it drops below the set idle then recovers you are rich turn in a little and do again
If it hangs up higher then drops back you need to turn out a little then try again.

Just for informational purposes:

Idle speed on the VTX 1300 is 900rpm +/- 100rpm. (so, basically, 800-1000rpm)

Cold, your idle speed is going to be around 100rpm lower than Hot.

So, the goal is to have it around 850 cold, and it will kick up to 950 hot.

You can get it close enough by ear with a 200rpm range.. just be aware that it will raise 100rpm when hot.. and when tuning the A/F, you want to be as close as possible to 900rpm.

Throttle Blip, adjust... if your RPM goes up or down when adjusting the A/F, you can adjust the idle to compensate...

For example: You do the throttle Blip and it dies. Thats Rich. So you lean out the mixture, but your idle goes up. Don't be afraid to kick down the idle a little.. A/F first, idle speed second... and only adjust or fine tune the A/F Mix when its hot.

Here is what 900rpm sounds like: http://s1000.photobucket.com/albums/af122/Gonzo1970_bucket/Tuning/?action=view&current=tune002.mp4
