Hello members ... First post and it of course it is a question.

I have been looking now for the past couple of months for a VTX 1300. I have been looking specifically for a C but when I found a great deal on the R I decided it was too good to pass up and I am now in the process of purchasing it.

My goal was to change the fenders anyways ... I love the more customized looks but my question is this ...

Besides the fenders, cosmetic looks, is there anything differnt between the 1300c and the 1300r? Frame, brackets ... etc?

Will I be able to remove the saddle bags and windscreen, change the fenders and tire / wheels to what suits me and pretty much have a 1300c?

Any help is greatly appreciated, there is still a chance for me to back out if it is too much work to change this bike.

there are really quite a few differences in the C model compared to the R and S model. Here are parts that i know are not readily interchangeable, seats, exhausts, fender guards, rear wheels, front wheels, shift linkage, floorboards handlebars, fork covers. Those come to mind. Hope this helps with your decision making. :mosh: Bry

Well thank you for the help team ... not the news I wanted to hear but I guess it is better I hear it now than after I get the bike and it is too late.

Guess I should have just stuck with my gut instinct that the deal was just too good to be true.

I'm new to VTXs and am looking to purchase...

If one is looking to buy an X and be able to customize it, is one bike model better than another? For example, the R vs C?
What are the ins/outs and pros/cons to each model?
Are they all customizable?

the R/S/T share pretty much the same setup for most things, the C being so different from the others makes it a challenge to find aftermarket parts, for instance i really LOVE the look of the tsukayu vtx quick release bags, but theyll only fit an R/S/T because the fender rails are so different between them and a C, so im ordering Jumbo Strongs from them for my C instead, they wont be quick release, but i didnt plan on taking the bags off except to work on the bike anyways.

seems most of the younger cafe members like the c model as its sportier looking. Those members who like the R, S, or T say their bike rides more comfortable, due to floor boards, seat and different style handlebars. It's all in what you like, the engine and drivetrains are identical on all 1300VTX's. good luck with your bike hunt. :mosh: Bry

Rear wheels are the same size....I switched out my spokes for a C rear and have a C front to put on when my metz wears out. Fronts are different...17" vs. 19".

My understanding and the bit of research I've done says that the C wheel is a direct swap with only big difference is the C wheel is noticeably more narrow in the R/S fender.

Yea I looked it up, first it's an 18" rim not a 19". The tire is a 130 verus a 150 si it will be thinner. On the plus size a skinnier tire turns better than a fat one. I looked for a rim and they aren't that easy to find. I'll keep my eyes open for one though.

VTX 1300 t VS R/S/C

I'm new in the motorcycle world and decided to buy a VTX 1300 T. I been trying to buy some accessories (like hard saddle bags and trunks) but most accessories are for the madel C or R/S. I'm wondering the accessories for the R/S will work for the T model since I will remove the rear back rest anyway? any help will be apreciated.:patriot:

A "T" model is just an "R/S" model with the windshield, saddlebags, and backrest added at the factory...

One other difference that I did not see mentioned between the R/S/T vs C model is that the C model is a "tad" more nimble in handling due to the taller thinner front wheel/tire combo in addition to the Drag style handlebars. Not saying this as either a Pro or a Con, just the physical differences in the front end components.

As for accessories, there are a ton of accessories available for all the models, yes some things only fit R/S/T or some only fit the C but I guarantee that there are more accessories available than we have the money to get :D

Not that it answers your question, bu the R/S/T is a different riding position and stance than the C. I'd see which one suits your riding style first and then modify costmetics accordingly.
Myself, the R fit me best, as it's more of a laid-back style. The C is a more agressive sport-style stance and position.
If you want to turn the R into a C, I would think you'd be dollars ahead by just getting a C.
