Hi All,

I just bought an '05 VTX1300S, so I'm pretty new to the forum. I'm really enjoying my new ride and am already looking at making a few changes to "make it mine." One of those changes is to find a new rear seat. I'm looking to see if I can find a sleeker rear seat, like the 1300C's have, however I don't want to replace my current seat with a one-piece seat. It seems that all I can find are the one piece sets in many of the catalogs. Does anyone know where I may be able to find one of the sleeker looking rear seats (like the 1300C's have) that is a separate piece that I can bolt right on to the 3 bolt pattern on my 1300S?

Thanks for the help!

Do you ever carry a passenger??...If so, you may want to re-think that idea, as those "sleek" seats aren't worth a crap as far as comfort...When I was bike shopping my wife and I sat on a 1300C, and the first thing she said was that the seat was horrible...And that was just 15-20 seconds sitting on it in a dealer showroom....

Yep, you have to think about the rear passenger, even if you do not have one now, you got a bike and a world full of possibilities. hehe I love my bike. Get a nice seat, maybe one that makes them want to lean into you but, not one that makes them want to get off the back seat, unless it is getting off to accompany you. My lady's enjoyment is of the four most importance to me. If I am not comfortable, I always make sure she is. If she is not, rides over, get a hotel or get off or change what I am doing. My bike is for good memories. The bike is like a drug that works every time! It puts me into a zone and takes me to my mellow/happy place. Women sense that and get into the grove with me. Because I make it just as fun for them, they have my utmost attention. Thus the seat, small seat means you do not want them on the back. Hard seat, they don't want to ride or be with you, not a good thing. A soft seat, big and inviting, they fight for ownership of that seat or the rights to it. That is more my plan. You can have seats redone for cheep. Any padding you like and any cover you want.

Thanks everyone! I think I may just take the back seat off (it's only three bolts) and put one of those fender bibs on. I'll agree that the stock seat is probably more comfortable (way more padding) so when a lady wants to ride, I'll just swap out the bib for the old seat and roll .
