VTXFred said:yes, i have please see here .....
it´s not easy but possible !
In Germany it´s not allowed to make any change at the intake.
So i use the "closed version". for a friend in Netherland i have
build the open version. in combination with K&N sportfilter and
Powercommander it works really fine. (both open & closed )

Here some pictures from the "open version"![]()

i will try a translation.....
you need :
2 one-quarter tubings
2 pipes with welding bevel
2 pieces flat steel
all parts are stainless steel !
you must cut the one-quarter tubing as shown
you must cut the pipe under 45 degrees
you must fit the pipe into the tubing (use/need a center lathe)
you must tack weld both parts 3 or 4 times
you must fit the bar ( 20 x 44 x 6 mm ) in the one-quarter tube and tack weld as seen
and now the hard work begins .....
you must arrange the "building" to the surface of the air intake cup. (filing)
That takes a long time but it is important for a "good look"
the upper and lower intake is not equal ! ( cup = konvex surface )
If this work is done the dirty part beginns...... polish inside and outside
at last you must fit the new intake to the cup ( M 6 x 20 ) sorry .-))
if you want the open version you must make holes like seen in the cup
and you should use a entforcement sheet ( vibrations ) to stable the
pipes.....
i hope this was helpful
please excuse my basic english .....
Fred
