Well, I did several searches. I can't find exactly what I'm looking for. I hope this thread is helpful to others with the same question.

I bought a set of Cobra Speedster Shorts, A K&N air filter, and a KURYAKYN Pro R Hypercharger. All item will be here this week. I hear that I will need to "rejet" when I add this stuff. Ok, so here are my questions that I've come up with:

1. What exactly is rejeting?
2. Do I need a "rejet kit?"
3. Is this job something I can do on my own or do I need a professional?
4. I've heard talk of a "pair valve removal" Do I need to do this too? Is this part of the procedure?

If there is anything I'm missing or need to know please let me know. I'm looking to install this stuff next week.

Thanks in advance!

read this on your jetting, do not use the jets that Kury sends you.

the Hyper comes with a K&N filter so the one you ordered may not be any good to you unless it is for the hyper.

Pair valve is the removing of the smog equipment
you don't have to do right away but your pipes will sound better if you do it, you can order block off plates and do later.

link to pair valve removal.

Raging:

How do you like the cobras so far? I have narrowed the long search to those and jug huggers :hmm2: and plan on pulling the trigger during HDL's sale. What's your opinion and would you do it the same again?

Thanks

I like them a lot. I also like the fact that people come up and say "boy, that sounds nice...real nice" etc. I'm very happy with them. I would do it again for sure. I would have liked to have heard the Hard Kromes but I never got a chance. I have only heard them on YouTube.
I jumped on the last sale when they were a real good price. You should do the same. Just dont forget to pick up a set of crush gaskets with your order.
Good luck!

Rejetting means chaing the air / fuel ratio on a carbureted bike by changing jets / needle setting.

You have an 1800 - fuel injected = no jets to change. The air / fuel ratio is adjusted electronically.

The computer may adjust the A/F somewhat but you may need an aftermarket fuel processor.

Never mind - I see the age of the post.

crap. I bought a separate K&N filter.....Thought I would be a good idea to get one. Well, looks like I will be posting in the "for sale" section.

Thanks!
if the extra filter is the right one then keep it. K&N filters need to be cleaned and reoiled periodically. If you have an extra filter ready to go then you don't have any down time while waiting for the other filter to dry
