doesn't surprise me...must not watch tv, it's not the first time a biker or biker related issues have been dealt out at charities...many hell's angels and other biker members have lost their lives at charity events along with innocent by standers...won't be the last time either

The article was not very clear. Does it read a biker gang came in and shot up the post?
Witnesses reported that a number of armed men arrived from the Warlocks motorcycle gang arrived, then shot the place up. If a biker gang knows an enemy will be attending, it seems that a charity ride is good place to assassinate someone. The gang knows where and when the person(s) will be and so many other motorcycles are there so the likely unarmed victim(s) doesn't become alarmed when a bunch of bikers show up. It's not going to be fun for the witnesses knowing other affiliated gang members might choose them next.

I guess it is different in my part of the country. Around here a Charity event is usually neutral turf. You will see different members from different clubs at the same event.

UPDATE:
Four men have been charged in a Florida shootout that apparently killed two members of the local Warlocks motorcycle club, Winter Springs police said Monday. In a televised news conference, police Lt. Doug Seely said authorities were still investigating the Sunday morning incident in the parking lot of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post before a charity ride. Thirteen guns have been recovered, along with a similar number of weapons with an edge, he said.

“We believe this is an isolated incident,” Seely said. “We believe our community continues to be safe.”

Seeley said the shootings, which began with a confrontation, were linked to separate motorcycle groups known as the Warlocks. The Florida group, begun by U.S. Navy veterans, dates from the 1960s; the other Warlocks group is from Pennsylvania. The two groups are not affiliated with each other.

Seeley said the suspects are being held without bail on two counts of homicide and one count of attempted homicide. Arrested were Victor Amaro, 41, Robert W. Eckert, 38, David Maloney, 52, and Paul Smith, 47.

Could it be ...is it even possible that a group of vets started a club and used the name of an established club.
That would cause a lot of strife between the two factions.....don't ya think?

I don't see how they wouldn't know there was already a "Warlocks" out there that would object to them using their name.

They are two different clubs, non affiliated. Both have been around since the mid 60's.
Guy I work with is from Philly and used to ride with some of the Philly guys.

This would be one of the most hardcore copyright fights ever. It's a shame that a charity event can't be neutral ground.
Some coworkers were trying to start an axmen mc chapter (IAFF members only) and apparently the local Hells Angels group said "NO". My coworkers went and asked someone higher up in the national group (or something to that effect) and apparently the local H A chapter is being told to relax and reconsider. I don't know that I want to ride in an MC that was originally shunned by the H A's and then had them told to allow it/reconsider.

Ditto...They may not like each other, but they put their differences on hold during charity events...

That being said, and with me reading the rest of the thread, seems like that storm's been brewing for quite some time...Shame they had to settle it at a charity deal and involve outsiders....How many of the innocent bystanders do you think will donate/attend a similar charity next time one comes up??...Not ashamed to admit I wouldn't...
