Fits perfectly. I chose the LIN3 for it's off axis lighting vs the TIR3. Both a SUPER bright, obviously. These are used on emergency vehicles. I like these because there are different flash patterns to choose from.

Cameras do these LEDs no justice.

I also replaced the stock bulb with a superbrightled bulb. Tail light is now much brighter and if I left it as that without the Whelen I would have been happy.

I have the Whelen set to ActionFlash 150. My wife was behind us on the way to dinner about 12-15 car lengths back in daylight and she said is was "too bright, and the blinky blink thing is irritating". I said good, that means I'm noticed which means you see I'm stopping....

Easy bolt on safety mod. :coffee:

Yeah the camera "eye" doesn't like the intense light so it doesn't show it real well. I do have pics of the install. I'll get them up. I bought the Vertical LIN3 but you can definitely go horizontal and cut the screw tabs off. It fits nicely just above the 2 bolts hat hold the lens on, with the tabs cut off it'll slide right in. It was a very difficult decision for me not to do that, and I think I still may.

Here's the flash patterns. Like I said I chose ActionFlash 150

If you check these out keep in mind the demo is 2 LIN3s and the left/right option is not available unless you pair them.

I have yet to find these on a VTX, I've seen them on a Roadstar and some sportbikes. After all the planning was done the actual install - including running wires was only about 15-20 minutes.

You don't need to install these inside anything, they come in clear, amber, red, and blue. I just didn't want it sticking out like a sore thumb (until I wanted it to by hitting the brakes) ;) So I tried to find something BRIGHT I could hide inside the lens and not mess with the tail light function.

I have bright flashing LED on the back of my bike and I talked to the local county police and they didn't see any problems with them as long as they were on the rear only.
I haven't been stopped yet.

I'm all for brighter lighting, within reason.
Flashing brake lights are just plain annoying, have you ever ridden behind some one with one?
Making yourself more visible is one thing, but it goes hand in hand with being courteous with everyone on the road.

Ok I need info on the dealer. For the super bright LED.... I am kinda thick on the topknot. :icon_susp

Feel free to Not comment on that!:D Thanks
Don't need to add to your statement because I'm trying to figure out this LIN 3 is not replacing the tail light but replacing stop light, I hve never poked around in the tail light so I don't know whats in there or how much room is in there. But that sure is bright, I need one.

I have a 7" red oscillating light on the back luggage rack like in the night rider car and when I stop it blinks 4-4 times then goes solid red for a few seconds then reputed it self. The police here like it. Why would any policeperson ever want to complain about anyone wanting to prevent themselves from being rear ended especially with our small profile and with all the cell phones/ drunks and dopies on the same rodes with us. I think the law's need to be changed just to saves our lives.
I have also had a flashing rear brake light on my bike for many years.

If anyone is thinking of do this, check your state laws. Most states do not allow red flashing lights.
Agreed just check state and local laws covering your service lights. Better to be safe than sorry. Cool looking does not mean it is legal.
