Im planning on putting white walls on my bike very soon and i had a couple of Questions. My tire size are 140/80 r17 and 170/80 r15.
First does the dunlop 404 front tire and the dunlop k555 back tire have the same size band of white on them? The 404 side wall is 1 and 1/2 inches tall but i cant find specs on the k555. Wider is better do you know of any set of tires that will fit my bike with more than 1 and 1/2 inches of white?

I have looked for months to find some other styles to replace with and have been unlucky so far. Unless you are willing to mix brands (which I am not) there aren't many choices for our sizes.

I like the new Avon Cobra WWW but they don't fit our sizes.

I have Dunnies on my '05 and short of actually measuring them, I am satisfied with the width of the white.

I have NO ISSUE whatsoever mixing brands! No one that I know has ever noticed, or cared. Metzeler is touted as a much better tire than Dunlops, but does NOT make a white-wall in our size. So I run Dunlop on front, Metz on rear. I have little choice for the front, but am more than happy to mix-match upgrade to the Metzeler on the rear! The Metz rear also measures slightly larger than the same in Dunlop.. which is an added bonus for highway cruising and getting the speedo a little closer to accuracy. I am very happy with my setup.

That's what I have on my 05 1800. I love them and have had no problems.
