Again I've heard rumors that Honda is going to stop producing the 1100 shadow, in favor of the X1300.
Now I know many of you have opinions about the differences between the two bikes and the preferences of each rider.
My question is, do you think Honda will actually do this. If they do will they revamp the X1300 to counter the Star 1300.

If they stop producing it (the Shadow 1100), it would be b/c of lacking sales/interest from consumers. Doesn't look like Honda would re-vamp the 1300X to compete with the Yami 1300 at this point, unless they decide to get rid of "old school" type cruiser set-ups. It's a successful bike/product, running that way since '03 so I wouldn't think they're in any rush. It could happen, you just never know what their thinking until they do it. If they do it, the cost will be driven up which would most likely hurt sales.

Well, the Sabre is not much less then the VTX1300 in cost although it does have a different ride. I actually prefer the feel of the Sabre but I can't see Honda keeping both the Sabre and Spirit. I had heard that the 100 was going to go to a 1200 and the 1300 to a 1500 and the 1800 to a 2000 so who knows exactly what will happen for 2008. THe one thing I would like to see happen to the Cruisers is a 6 speed tranny. I know my 1300 sure needs one out on the road just cruising. Plus, I hope they "fix" the speedo to be accurate.

I look for 6st gear all the time. LOL
Yeah, not kidding. I get to speed and just try to shift again. It seems to me 4th and 5th are very close. Either a 6th gear or make 5th taller.

:harder:LOL, I do this too. Thaught it was just me:cheers:
Actually, I am glad it is not just me. I have been looking for ways to change the finale ratio. Maybe a Wing or ST1300 rear gear. I have to find someone that knows what the tooth count is.

When I was at the Dealer Expo in Indianapolis, I had heard from some of our dealers that Honda was in fact discontinuing the 1100. They are selling out of what they have in stock and once they are gone, they are gone.

The EPA regulations that are set for 2008 will require that basically all motorcycles be FI. I am assuming that Honda is discontinuing the 1100 in lue of the 1300 because of the amount of sales in the 1300 in comparison to the 1100. Also, with americans demanding more power, why would they want to put R&D time into developing an FI sytem for an 1100 when they can simply put it on the more popular 1300.

I also think that Honda will be introducing something different for 2008 because they are loosing sales to their competitors because they have not really done anything new in the last few years other than the Rune; which was not successful.

That concept bike has a few nice items but Honda will not build it. THis bike has a CHAIN DRIVE and a modified Springer-type front end. Also, for a "cruiser" it not passenger friendly. It would be a great Sport Cruiser with a few changes. Now that KILLER 240 rear would be GREAT but I think Honda knows it will be a little harder to do a 240 for production with a drive shaft.
