Ok so i am looking for a windshield for my bike i'm not sure what brands are good or whatnot but i am looking to spend under 200 bucks on one any suggestions? Also just got my throwover saddle bags and man they look sweet they came with brackets to keep them off the tires but i'm not sure how to mount them or if i even need them i don't see how the bags could get into the tires but i'm a newb at this stuff so i'm really unsure figured it'd be better to ask now then to not ask and screw up somehow. Thanks

Check out Ebay, there are some pretty inexpensive windshield listed. Otherwise it's Memphis, National and other namebrands but with mounting it will cost more than 200.00 Good luck

My vote is for Memphis Shades. Good product, not too expensive. As for the throwover bags, you definately want to secure them to the supports. you really don't want them flapping around when you're riding down the freeway and if they do move too much, they can scratch your paint also.

The support brackets mount into the existing rear fender rail bolt holes. There should be new bolts with the supports that replace 2 of each sides bolts.

mscales has one, look for his posts, you'll see the shield. I have the Shooter, but the Hellcat, Shooter, Demon and Classic Deuce all use the same mounting hardware. So if you buy one of these and don't like it, just buy a replacement shield from one of the other choices.

You have to be carefull with which saddlebag supports that you order. They are diffrent per model (i.e. c, S, R). I found out the hard way as well when I just grabbed a set for myself the first time and didn't pay attention to the fact that the package said for 1300R, not 1300C. As was stated earlier, there will be some bolts in the package and they will replace the stock bolts. It's a really simple task.

Good Luck

Bonnie, Curious with the 21" shade do you look through the windshield or over. How do you like it so far and have you been in rain or high wind?

I look just through the top portion of it unless I sit up real straight, then I can see over it. Have never been in the rain yet but give it time (rainy season is coming) and no high winds yet (hurricane season is coming too) LOL. I rode it about a week without a windshield and it liked to kill my shoulders with the wind pushing me back. Since the windshield, it's been so much nicer on my arms and shoulders. Not so fatigued after riding now. :D

ddannen....I have an HDL shield that is 21" tall and I look over it. I'm 6' tall and have no problem looking over. I avoid the rain when possible and high winds is not an issue. I had a smaller shield on my old MC, and I would get back from a ride and be exhausted. Now it's fine.
