Hi,
Background is: I am getting my 2007 VTX 1800 F registered in Europe. Now, its prohibited in Europe having yellow parking lights and it is not getting through the registration process - and I will need to have the parking lights shut down, but of course the turning lights shall blink yellow when switched on.

I am no electrician, an basically only know how to do some simple wiring - I am attaching a link to the wiring diagram of a 1800F 2005+:
http://tech.bareasschoppers.com/wp-...s/wire_schematics/05+_VTX1800_F_schematic.jpg

Basically the front turn signals shall be equal to the rear turn signals (i.e. no parking light) Is there anyone who knows how this can be solved ?

One other thing, I will need to add a white front parking light (farily easy attaching such below the headlight), but I guess I can wire that to the licence registration plate light in the rear? It's two 5W white bulbs I would be adding.

Many thanks in advance (I have only 4 days left to modify and comply with this regulation or I need to start the process over again at a later stage.)

The front bulb is an 1157, dual element. If you want to disable the running (parking) lights, the simplest thing to do is disconnect (cut) the running light wire, leaving the turn signal side connected.

Guys, thanks for the feedback.

I am still a bit confused - since there are only 2 wires going to the front turn lights (one of them is ground), so there is no seperate wire with running park light and one separate with turn signal.

See if you can find a bulb with a single element and all you should have to do is change out the bulb and not mess with any wiring
That won't work since the little tabs on the side of the two fillament bulb is different. Also the bottom of the single fillament bulb has only one connector. The stock socket has two connectors in there.

Your best bet would be to to disconnect the wires for the running lights and use one of them to power your new Standlicht ;-)

Tired of dealing with the TÜV yet??

Thx

Call your local Honda dealer and see if the part # for this piece is different . If it is the that is your fix

RELAY, TURN SIGNAL POSITION 38301-MCV-N11

Sorry it took me so long to see this post.

I see two wiring harnesses for that bike ,one is americas the other is marked AC (I will check what that means). I only see one turn signal relay on my listings of parts and I think that would be the fix.
