ok have 07 r in the last 3 days have went out in morning and started it as i normal do it ran about 30 sec then died would not restart. left it sit came home from work fired right up and stayed running next day no problems now today same thing ran like 30 sec and shut off with no restart. carb is set 2 1/2 out no other mods but today i did notice it was idling real fast and idle knob is all the way down. any ideas?

2 things will cause a fast idle

1, throttle push /pull set with no slop at the grip.
2, vacuum leak which will cause it to run lean.

So look at the grip and adjust till you can turn the throttle about 1/8 inch or so before the speed increases.

Next would be check all the vacuum lines for connections and that they aren't checked inside and outside.

up at the grip there is an adjuster with a lock nut on it just turn in or out till you get the free play in the grip rotation.
Book says 1/8 to 1/4 inch and 1/8 is plenty

Just a thought.
Is there a chance the a/f screw has fallen out - that i believe will cause a fast idle and wont idle down.

Any chance loose battery cables could cause this? I know it could cause the dieing problem not sure about the idle...
