Test drove all three today......Results are..........Not even in the same category
As an unbiased drive myself and a buddy of mine the Yamaha can't even come close the VTX wins with price, style, power, comfort, etc, etc, etc,Just thought I would put my two cents in as well as the three other guys that went with me today to ride them.

Also, there's a TON more available for the VTX in the aftermarket. I'd go so far as to say that there's as much available for the VTX as there are for Harleys. The only difference is that the prices for the VTX stuff is half, and the quality is often twice as good.

the v star 1300 is a nice looking bike, i'm not a big fan of belt drives

The belt drive is the biggest drawback. I would not pay more money for another 1300 with a belt over my VTX with a shaft.

rrrrriiiggghhttt...im gonna have to sorta..disagree with ya. the vtx(specifically the R due to the full fenders) looks so much better that the yamaha. of course, im sure im being a bit biased since i have the R..

If they copied the VTX, maybe the Yammi would be so damn ugly.

When I first bought my new X, my friend ran out and traded her V Star 650 for the new V Star 1300, before she even saw my new bike. Boy was she sorry she bought the V Star after she saw mine. I tried to tell her, but she didn't listen.

I have the only X in this area and it feels good. I get lots of compliments and its nice to hear the others say "I wish I had my time back".
