Ive seen a few bikes with this around where im from and i think it looks awesome while providing some extra light. You can pick up the HID kits on ebay for anywhere from 40 to 100 bucks. But im not real sure about how to go about this on a bike? Where would the box mount and how would you run the wiring etc. If anyone has seen this done or has it done themselves or even any ideas let me know. Thanks!

Mount the box under the tank.

I want to split a car's kit with someone...it's the same HID lights and two ballasts..i was looking at the hi/low beam kits and splitting the car kit was cheaper than getting the MC only kit.

Well i think the mc kit has longer wires. Im not really sure how to go about the whole thing. Oh and there is big dispute about the hi/low beam units i know i cars anyways. Long story short the high beam is useless because of where it puts the beam of light. The other thing im worried about is HID ballast dont take to well to changes in voltage. For instance with out vtx the headlight is on when you turn the key on and when you start the bike the light dims because of voltage drop obviously. Im worried that will fry the ballast. If you think the car units will be long enough to reach i would totally be interested in splitting one with you! I just was hoping for some more feedback and ideas before i bite the bullet.

Ive seen HIDs on like crotch rockets so i figure it must work somehow but they can mount it behind fairings and such we dont really have a way to hide the box. But if they do it on crotch rockets then im sure somebody has done it on a cruiser!

I got the HID kit today, had some free time and started to work on the install. Started taking bike apart, and taking pictures, ahwn I realized the company probably sent me the wrong Relay wiring harness. It looks liek it's probably one for a Car and not a motorcycle. Have to call them back in alittle bit to talk with the tech support person who was off until alittle later. The Kit is from Euro EFX, looks liek its of good quality, and small enough to fit on the bike without problem. Will post more after I talk with there tech support guy.

Ive put kits in cars before and ive never had to install any relay kit? It should just be a plug and play unit. The plug from the headlight bulb should plug into the ballast and the ballast will plug to the hid bulb then if you ordered the right bulb for the bike it should fit right in like factory. You should just need to find a place to mount the ballast and your good to go. At least thats my limited experience with hid kits?

I believe the relay is because I bought a Hi/Lo HID Light set up. I just finished installing, the set up, I did take pics, none in the dark yet. I will be posting when I'm done, but I think something may be messed up because the it's either stuck in High beam, or the low beam is very high, and I can't get it to switch from low to high. I'm going to be checking it as soon as it's dark.

I bought it from http://www.euroeffects.net/ It's a Bi-Xenon set up so it's suppose to have High and Low beam. Thats why there is extra wiring because of the relay for the high low beam switch. I paid 99.99 for that set up, the regular set up which doesn't have the relay wiring harness was 75.00 I believe. Currently my high and low beam is not working I'm going to contact them when they are open again for tech support, but it does light up everything. I went with a 6000k Diamond White Blub.

I mounted everything here on the bike zip ties seem to work just fine. I did have to extend the grounding wire it was about 6 inches too short. Everything else work find, but if I were to buy it again I think I would go with the regular set up to simplify all the wiring. All the excess wiring from that wiring harness for the relay is zip tied under the seat. Because it had extra wiring, for use on other vehicles including cars.

I will get pics of the bike with the lights on in the dark when I get a chance.

First I had one on my r6. I never had a relay. some would debate that but I never had a problem. second it was a ballast from a car with hids. No it wasn't stolen I work for a dealer and they are pretty easy to come across when you need one. Now lets talk about the x. I haven't had a chance to look the headlight but I was planing to put the ballast in the headlight. Not sure if it would fit yet but that is the first place I'm going to look at.

i think i like on off better. I always liked being able to ride without a light on but what about for inspection purposes? does a motorcycle need hi and low. i know a car does....:hmm2:

Most HID Conversion kits are low beam only, or they somehow rig the HID blub for low, and a regular blub for Hi. The set up I have above its suppose to be Hi/Lo which is why it had the extra wiring with the relay. The Headlight is installed and working, and I have it adjusted so I'm not blinding on coming cars, but nothing is happening, when I switch it High Beam. The High beam indicator comes on, but the lighting doesn't change.

The lighting is now much improved with the HID headlight now.
