Brake Pedal Adjustment

I have got a question as I have been thinking about this a while. I cannot use forward controls as I have a Cobra Fatty's engine guard. I would like to drop the brake pedal down about 1 inch. Keep the pivot point in the same place but knock off about 1 inch from the bracket and from my measurements I would still have plenty of play. This would change the angle slightly of the brake pedal which I need for my long legs and bad knee. One other option would have the capability to just swivel it forward using the existing bracket if it is possible. Any ideas? I can't see that this pedal is adjustable on its rotation or pivot point at all unless I am missing something. There are days I still have issues with my right knee and this would help tremendously. Currently on those days I have to use an AirHawk and a wool cover to sit a little higher. I know an Ultimatte Big Boy seat probably would do the trick but I don't want to spend that kind of money right now. It is unbelievable what that 1 inch can do on long rides. Night and day. On shorter rides I can live with it around here but not really comfortable.

no adjustment from the factory... bend foot lever.. or alter mounts for master cylinder/petal

I have an "F" with Honda forward controls... bad knees.. only way to keep riding, in 2005....

or learn to only use the Front brake .. I did this for one summer... knee damage.. not able to bend at all.. right ankle on foot peg...

You don't say what model your VTX1800 is. My 2008 1800T has a bolt with a locknut that presses the brake cylinder rod in to apply the brakes. If you have the same setup, you might be able to get your pedal a bit lower by removing the locknut, and screwing the bolt in as far as it will go. You'll have to remove the spring that keeps pressure on the bolt, and pick the pedal up as far as it will go. Since I've never adjusted mine, I have no idea if that will suffice to remove the bolt, or if you'll have enough adjustment once you remove the locknut. You'll just have to play with it.

Bending the pedal (at least on my bike) doesn't sound like a good idea. That pedal is made of thick, wide steel. You'll have to heat the hell out of it to bend it, and there may be some question as to how strong it will be after you do so. The piece is chrome plated on my bike, so if yours is the same, you'll ruin the chrome and either have to get it rechromed, or prime it and paint it black. Neither option would appeal to me.

I'm not sure what you are dealing with but you could probably make a bracket to adapt it to your needs.
My issue with Cobra fatty bars it limits my use of the foot brake since my boot hits the bars. Not entirely a bad thing since most braking is supposed to be front anyway but it is annoying. Might have similar issue if you drop the pedal angle.
