It looks to me 1'' I.D plus I think it's 16 gage.Still need the tube size of e metal to make one. Anyone anyone?
Thanks, so far it does. I was thinking 1 inch square and 1/8 or 3/16 thick. It looks to me 1'' I.D plus I think it's 16 gage.
I hope this helps.
I like that one! The tape was a great idea!Don't know why Harbor Freight quit selling these stands. Only ones I've sen like it are around $250 and I paid about $50 for this one.
Painters tape stuck on the wheel is optional.

In case you decide to tear it down this far.....Question.... why do we need a stand if we have to jack it up anyway?
The Harbor Freight jack that was on sale (and still is I think) for $59.... Coop has that one and we used it to check the tail light wiring. LOTS easier with the bike up on the floor. Can't you just do all your work on the jack? Why the need for a stand?

The stands that I build are make of 1" 11ga square tubing. I will tell you that unless you are buying in bulk, you will have about 80 - 90 bucks in material easy and that seems like it is going up all the time. I would personally not trust my bike on 1" 16ga, that would be a little thin for my liking. As far as a dolly, I make those too. I actually working on a new design that might make then just a little cheaper. here is the current design. It looks to me 1'' I.D plus I think it's 16 gage.

Thanks. I have a buddy who owns a steel shop and we want to try our hands on making one. It would be my first project with my welding skills. The stands that I build are make of 1" 11ga square tubing.
