Trying to install speedohealer but can't seem to find the speed sensor coupler. Can anyone who's installed one on a 1300 give me a hint? I'm having no luck at all. The manual shows where the actual speed sensor is but not coupler. Only help I found on web was on an 1800. ThanX in advance.:):)

Hope This Helps!!!
SpeedoHealer INSTALLATION
2002-2008Honda VTX1300 and VTX1800

Note: Use this guide in conjunction with the instructions received with your SH-H03 harness kit.

1. Locate the Speed Sensor coupler.
Remove the left side cover and you'll find it under the key switch.

2. Connect the SH harness connectors to the connectors on the bike's harness.

3. Using longer zip-ties (10"), I found the best location for the control unit was strapping it to the rear upright next to the tool kit behind the left side cover with the wire harness running over the top of the tool box. It's hidden, protected, and easy to access.

4. Use the on-line calculator to generate the programming instructions.

Update from Cliff T. (USA):
For the record, -9% corrects the speedo on a stock 2004 VTX 1800R with a new rear tire so that 80 mph indicated is 80 on my radar gun.

I have a 13C04, and I connected the speedohealer inline with the sensor connection. It's located under the left side cover. You will have to remove the back engine side cover.

See page 19-8 in the service manual.

Connection is simple...the speedohealer just hooks up inline (in series).

I set the correction at -9.1 and it dead on according to my Zumo550.

Your welcome
I still haven't bought one yet, I still just ride about 7 to 8 mph over listed limit, puts me right at the posted limit, according to the radar detectors on the side of the road out here.
Ride Safe.

If I remember right mine was on the left side behind the left side cover. I had a picture of it once but it is long gone. The 1800 pic is not the right one for the 1300. I tried it and it didn't work.

What is up with the speedo, I notice riding with traffic that the speedo reads 60 in a 50, just WHY? you have to but a puter chip to make the adjustment,

must have been a Harley engineer to creat this master piece of technoligy

What?

I have yet to see a Honda speedo that is on the money. Even my cars are off about that same as the bike. The Speedohealer lets you set your speedo to what your actual speed is. Most of our 1300s are off about 9+ percent. If you want to know exacatly how fast you are going and how far your speedo is off then borrow a GPS and check it out.

if your speedo is off and you know this. why would you spend more money on a speed healer? I am sure it dosen''t change. So if the healer is set for -7 at 70 well figure it out!:patriot:

I compensate like you say above. Becomes habit forming though and I find myself now doing the same thing in the cage also. Only problem my cage speedo is tits on. One speeding ticket would more than pay for the $100 Speed-o-Healer. But I still have a problem spending that much. I don't need it programmable & adjustable like they sell. I wish somebody sold a cheap and dirty -10% hook-up. Probably a very simple circuit with connectors attached, $10 or $15 max.

The biggest reason I see for the speedo healer is for the ODOMETER.....
If you don't ride much, then there isn't that much added...
the more you ride, the more miles added that you didn't ride,
thus lowering the value quicker than the actual value should be....
It's minor...but all adds up....

The speed is off in a percentage so the mph it is off changes at different speeds. I like the Healer because it corrects the speedo and odo and now I know how fast the flow of traffic is really going. Plus, if I get a ticket I can reset the speedo and then go have it checked so i can fight it.

With mine, the speedometer and odometer were both off, but not by the same degree. I set my speedohealer to correct the odometer: I would rather have my mileage right as opposed to speed. My speedometer still shows a little fast, but I can live with that. Having the odometer wrong just pisses me off!

Seajay, I bet if you used a GPS your speedo will be off.
