Hello vtx nation. New to this type of scene. I used to ride a hayabusa, with 2 Lil ones it's time to slow down. Anyway i just dug this 04 1800C out of someone's backyard that was covered, for 3 yrs, in N.Y weather, including the winters.:nope:. Got a few things goin on as I'm digging through it. Hopefully I can get it right, and get the rubber rolling again. Everyone be safe, and keep the rubber down..

Welcome to cruisers! What better transition than one of these 1800cc power houses?
Poke around the "stickies" for good how-to's and mod ideas.
Also, www.bareasschoppers.com is virtually an online bible for the VTX.
Once you've had a few posts, you can also post pictures and start threads in the other forum areas - tech questions, classifieds, etc.
Let us know if you're troubleshooting something that's a headache. There's a lot of knowledge floating around this forum!

Welcome from central Pa. high atop the Alleghenies. Make sure the rubber is fresh, battery is strong with no weak cells (100-amp load test at an automotive parts dealer) terminals cleaned and tightened with a socket or wrench, not a screwdriver, change all fluids every 2 years, shock bushings are centered on the eyes, run some SeaFoam or Techron through her for a couple tankfuls. Ride it like ya stole it. The 1800 is a beast, a hot rod.

Best to change every fluid to get yourself a baseline for maintenance then follow service schedule.
Plenty of help on here if you get stuck with something. These bikes are pretty easy to work on.
Enjoy the ride.

Welcome from Charlotte, NC, where sweating 5 minutes after hopping out of a cold shower is a normal Summer occurrence.
