There's also a way to do it without dropping the front wheel off. lay bars back across tank, take center nut off and loosen upper pinch bolts and slide whole assembly off. less taking apart but definitly a 2 man job. Also i used WD-40 to flush mine. Want to make sure what you use isn't going to harm the seals. And i'm more than willing to help anyone also. Have helped or done 3 bikes this winter, it isnt a bad job.
Hoss - that is the way I am planning on doing mine- I will hang the whole assembly upside down with wheel and fender still in-tacked upside down under a step ladder withe the tubes in a drain pan.
When I change my oil in my car I don't take the engine apart -- if the seals are not leaking I'm not going to touch them. If I don't get every drop out - oh well.

I understand what you're saying. This is just another way, not better just different. The only benefits that i know of this way are not taking the front wheel off and not having to re-align the heigth of the forks. Like i said not better just another option.

Not positive about the route yet, but coming from the direction of St. Louis, there should be a few of us heading north on 57, east on 80 to 94 to Rt. 20.

Although, depending on the time, we may avoid chicago entirely.. But it shouldnt end up that way. If I leave in the morning on Friday, I dont see why we couldnt get there before rush hour traffic.

Would someone help me change fork oil on Tech day?
There will be enough people on hand why not just remove the caps and flip the bike upside down, quick and simple way to drain it right out... :stirpot:

If Im not neck deep in carbs, I wouldn't mind learning about the forks.

I heard they were going to build you a private stall and get you some blinders so you can be locked away with no distractions while doing carbs :bleh:
(and to keep you away from the blue cooler)

Not sure if I need to RSVP, but I'm down and stoked for this. Is anyone running together from Chicago to this?

Spats,

I'll shoot you a PM when it gets closer. You are more than welcome to join the NE Illinois contingent :mosh:. We'll be leaving sometime early Saturday morning. So far, the potential group is:

me
Mdolph
PoisonWhiskey
Rarebreed
rs42sport
Kahos Angel (pending the route he takes and timing)

And I think there's one more :hmm2:. I'll have to run through the thread to make sure I contact everyone.

Might have to leave a little earlier to make sure we can find a place to park. Looks like we are going to blow away last year's attendance

That gives me an idea - Hey Bill.....can I reserve my spot ahead of time :D
