Driving lights - Handlebar switch?

Instead of buy a lightbar, I went ahead and made my own light pod mounting base out of aluminum. Kinda looks like a foot, bolts in conjunction with the headlight mount and exits in front of the fork(s). Anyway, my question is that I searched for some kind of handlebar mounted switch (I'll run via a relay to power the lights) and haven't come up with anything other than ones for 7/8" handlebars. Anyone has a suggestion where to look to find 'em?

Y'know.. Ive had my bike for 2 years.. it has the OEM Hondaline Light Bar..and I have NEVER used the factory switch.
They are just wired into the low-beam circuit of the headlight... and go out when on High Beam (that's the law here in NC).

Rather than a switch... why not just install a relay to the low-beam circuit?

I mainly plan on using them for night riding (55 watt x 2) and want the option to turn on/off when needed. I'm from New Mexico and would like to see what's ahead of me at night..lots of critters around here. I may just make a aluminum mounting system and mount it by the ignition switch (keyed hot), but would much rather have something mounted on the bars I can activate with my thumb.

On a bike... I like to BE SEEN...even in daylight ... that's why I never turn mine off

Here is where/How Honda put the original- basically a small bracket attached to the clutch lever mount..

I bought a Kuryakyn push on-push again for off switch mounted next to my left grip. Sturdy, not that expensive. One thing it doesn't have though is a lighted indicator. I sometimes forget to turn them off, but when I dismount the bike, I sure see them soon enough!

Thanks for the compliment Baker! It's an easy design and I had some plate laying around...cost less than $3 for the two longer headlight bracket bolts. I couldn't see spending $$ on something I can make.

I'll look into the Kuryakyn push on-push switch, but I remember see on the forum that inserted a small switch into the right handlebar switch housing that I really liked.

Finally another New Mexico rider! I'm about an hour away at Holloman. I'd love to go riding sometime and see your light setup. Looks nice.

Haha! Getting a 'lil footloose around here :)

J_Swanny, are you in the military, Air Force? I am retired from the military, but we should do a meet sometime in the near future! If you are interested in the light tab, I can probably fab up a pair but you have to do the sanding and polishing!

Yeah, i'm active duty. Got another year and a half of this enlistment and we'll see what happens after that.

I'd love to meet up and ride. Went out there last summer through the Gila mountains and back down through Hatch. Can't remember the name of the joint we stopped at for lunch, but they had a wicked green chili cheeseburger and chocolate shake!

It's called Sparky's in Hatch....THE BEST green chile cheeseburger on the planet! Just be sure to get there at 11:00am on the weekends...it gets packed with riders from Texas after that.

I'm from Cruces so just PM me. We have a family event this weekend (my son graduates tonight) so I'm tied up with that. Hey, what is the name of the burger joint in Alamo off to the left as you enter the city? Looks like an old drive-in...

Congrats to your son!

The name is Hi-d-ho, home of the Tiger burger! Pretty darn good, just about neck-and-neck with Rockin BZ Burgers (won several awards recently for best green chili burger).

I'll let ya know when I'm free to do some riding soon. Maybe we can grab some lunch at Sparky's.

I haven't been flashed once, yet.

I leave mine on all the time too. I rarely drive at night so mine are mostly for the daytime Atlanta crazies to see me.

Tony, I want to compare yours (NDAna) with the one Rick & I have that he got from PHREAKISH's web link.
