Does anyone use Fram oil filters on their bikes. I found two filters from Fram that would fit our bike PH6607 and PH6017A. I have always used Mobil 1 full synthetic motorcyle oil and a Honda oem filter but was at the auto parts store where i buy the oil and they had these filters listed in the book for the VTX 1300. Just looking for someone that uses these with no problems.

I had used Fram for years on my cars and trucks for many years. I had never found a problem myself with them. Then I started researching oil filters for the motorcycle. Since, I have used Purolator PureOne PL14610 for the 1300 VTX and the wife's CRV. I am using Royal Purple in the bike and Mobil One in the car. My old pickup, I use oil for high mileage vehicles.

I use a Bosch 3323 on my 1300. Cost about 6 bucks at the auto store. If you like mobile products, the M1-110 is an excellent filter, cost about 10 - 11bucks though.
Thing about aftermarket oil filters is that even tho they might screw on and the maker says there right for the engine there not,

We've had alot of trouble with H3 cylinder heads at work with the valves sticking and we have to replace the head, almost every one of them i've done had a fram filter on it, i won't use fram on my cars or bikes, purolator is the same company.
My mechanic uses exclusively the K&N's on my bike. Anyone had any experience with them? He charges way less than factory filter.
K&N is good. I prefer Mobile1. But it is pricely. I just want to say NO to Fram...
I don't think K&N has the same popularity on their oil filters as they have with air filters, but as for the standard, K&N seems to be a good option.

Stick with the Purolator Pure One series and you'll be fine.
Either the PL14612 or the slightly longer PL14610 which I use. They only cost $6 and have been proven to be outstanding filters.
Bosch is another good choice, but why pay double?

I've been running the WalMart ST6607 for $2 & change (made by Champion) for almost 20k miles now with no problemo.

I've started using napa (wix) filters for most everything I own. Most engine-geeks I know highly recommend & I've never read anything negative on the net to date.

Fram gets a bad reputation from writers who are paid by other oil filter manufacturers that sponsor or back certain motorcycle/car publications. I've been using Fram in all my motorcycles and cars for 33 years now.....Never had a problem. To J. Neu, I doubt your sticky valves had anything to due with how your oil was being filtered.

Heard from many many people not to use Fram. Not for your car or truck and certainly not for your bike. Stick with Honda OEM. I usually keep two or three in the garage. Just so I don't have to worry about heading to the dealership every time I need to change the oil.
