I know here in Florida the only places we are specifically prohibited from carrying is Schools and Courts. The signs at the front of businesses are not legally binding, although I understand your unwillingness to make a scene at the bank. Barring some sort of search procedure I just keep it quiet that I carry and assume that said business would be happy if I were to use my weapon in deterring a crime or bodily harm to any of their patrons or employees.
Not entirely correct brother. Airports past security, any federal building (post offices too), and bars.
Here's the real list:

What's funny about that, and pointed out in the CCW class, banks are 'not' included in this. I do know the CCW officer did say if an institution wishes they can post a sign saying you may not enter with a firearm and you must obey it. This is another reason they did not want the open carry law to pass, as it may incite everyone to post signs prohibiting carry.
Oh and to clarify the bar part, you could go to a restaurant that serves alchohol, as long as you don't drink, and sit at a 'table' not within the bar area (no lounge tables, and not AT the bar itself regardless whether drinking).
I like Cage's ideas for storage, I once considered this... I think I'd go the welded strong box near the stock storage box (removing it) and under a side cover, no one would ever see it.
